Charles Richard Kellett

1931 – 2017

Charles Richard Kellett, 86, of Pensacola, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2017.

Charles was born on April 28, 1931 in Memphis, TN to Helen Smith Kellett and Claud Marvin Kellett, Sr. Charles graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Geology. He served his country in the U S Air Force as a 1 ^st Lt, after serving his country he returned to college and graduated with a Master's of Science Degree in Petroleum Geology from the University of Oklahoma. Charles retired as a Sales Representative with McGraw Hill Company after 25 years of service in Nashville, TN and later in St. Louis, MO. During his younger years he was an avid aviator. He made numerous flights to vacation destinations all over the United States in his personal Cessna Aircraft. He enjoyed reading, camping and helping his wife with genealogy. Baxter and Skye will miss their daily walks with Charles.

He was preceded in death by his parents and step-son, Douglas Vaughn Griffin.

Charles is survived by his wife, Barbara Kathryn Beaver Griffin-Kellett; brother, Claud Marvin Kellett, Jr. of Fairfax, VA; step-children, David Lloyd Griffin of Clinton, AR, Dean Allen Griffin of Big Cedar, OK and Victoria Renee Griffin of The Colony, TX.

A Funeral Cortege will leave Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel at 1:30pm Thursday, September 7, 2017 for a 2:00pm Graveside Service at Barrancas National Cemetery. Chaplain Eric Melvin will officiate and military honors will be given.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Emerald Coast Hospice, 5111 N 12th Ave Ste B, Pensacola, FL 32504.

The family would like to express heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Arcadia Health and Rehabilitation Center for all of their professional and compassionate care given to Charles.
