Charles Dana Word, 74, of Gulf Breeze, FL., passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022.

Charles was born February 16 ^th , 1948 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Charles was a veteran and served in the US Navy and later in the US Marine Corps reserves. He had a masters in landscape architecture/city planning. He loved sailing, hunting, spending time in nature and above all, his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Helen Word and Brigadier General USAF Charles E. Word.

Charles is survived by his children, Joshua Word (Jacquelyn), Adam Word (Luciana) and Bridget Roberts (fiancé, Chris Nickinson); grandchildren, Oscar Word, Ben Word, Ian Word, Drew Word, Aiden Roberts and Isabelle Roberts; brother, Dennis Word and sister, Darlene Salvason (Jim).

A memorial visitation will be held from 12:30 pm until the memorial service begins at 1:30 pm on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. A graveside service will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.
