Obituary

Harriette Christina "Chris" Thompson, 59, of Pensacola, FL, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, February 3, 2025.

Chris was born in Pensacola on June 7, 1965, the youngest of three children to Benjamin Warren Gordon, Sr. and Loretta K. Wheeler Gordon. She graduated in 1983 from Woodham High School. After high school, she worked for many years as a talented and highly decorated customer service representative for Cox Communications. In 1999, she became a legal assistant and office manager for her brother Ben's law office, a position in which she excelled. Finally, she worked as his lead paralegal at the Levin Papantonio law firm for many years, until retiring to help run her family construction company.

Where Chris really shined, however, was as a doting mother and grandmother--the roles that truly filled her with joy and brought supreme purpose to her life. Like her dad before her, she was one of the most selfless and nurturing human beings ever to live, focusing all her boundless energy and time on her three boys, and later their children. All she ever talked about was how proud she was of her three boys and how much she enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren. Her beautiful smile and boundless devotion and laughter will be missed by all. We love you Mom, " Grammy," little sister, Chris.

She is preceded in death by her father, Benjamin Warren Gordon, Sr.; and her beautiful older sister, Melanie Melissa McManus.

Chris is survived by her three sons, Trenton Brad Thompson (Tina), Tyler Benjamin Thompson (Jamie), and Troy Bristan Thompson (Alexandra); her ex-husband, James Brad Thompson; mother, Kitty Gordon; brother, Benjamin Warren Gordon, Jr., (Amber); three nieces whom she cherished: Jessica Brianne Bell (Andrew), Lauren Christina Harris (Kory), and Lindsey Ciarra McManus-Williams (Bryan); her five grandchildren, who along with her three grown boys, were the absolute joy of her life, are as follows: Nathan James Thompson, Maranda Nadine Thompson, Kinleigh Noel Thompson, Kayleigh Mae Thompson, and Alexander Cole Thompson.
