Christine L. Jeselnik Carraway, 88, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2012. Chris was born in Green Bay, WI on August 3, 1923 and was raised in the Negaunee - Marquette area of Michigan. In 1951, she moved to Pensacola and operated Molly's caf on the West Side. She worked at the Naval Air Station as a cost clerk before retiring in the Pensacola area successfully making the transition from "Yooper" to "Southerner." Chris served as president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus, Council 778. She served as Secretary of Pensacola Golden Agers and was a member of several dance clubs in the Pensacola area. Chris was preceded in death by her previous husband, Blos "Jessie" Jeselnik; brothers, Pete Leanes (Gladys) and Milton Leanes (Ermaline); sisters, Marie Leanes Spike (Bruce) and Jeannette Leanes Kauppinen (Arne). She is survived by her husband, Myron Jay Carraway; her daughter, Tina Jeselnik Sutton (Kent); stepson, Richard Carraway (Teresa); step grandson, David Ellington (Jill); step granddaughter, Samantha Soens; her brother, Andrew Leanes (Mary Anne); sister, Virginia Leanes Maki and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 5-7pm Sunday, July 22, 2012 with a Rosary prayed at 5pm at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am Monday, July 23, 2012 at St. Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Doug Halsema, celebrant. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of Gulf Breeze Hospital and to the Joyce Goldenberg Hospice for their support and care.
