Christopher Ancel Moorhead, 44, of Pensacola, FL passed away Thursday, January 26, 2012 after a long fight with cancer. Chris was born February 23, 1967 in Orlando, FL. He graduated from Woodham High School and Auburn University. He worked as Senior Vice President at Coastal Bank and Trust. Chris was a member and past president of the Cantonment Rotary, member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity (FIJI) at Auburn University. He attended Hillcrest Baptist Church. His loves and hobbies include: family; being a coach of the Pensacola Lightning Baseball Team; Auburn Football; attending Tate High School football and baseball games where his son, David, plays; fishing, hunting, boot camp and Mens Barn Meeting. He is preceded in death by his father, H. Reid Moorhead, Jr; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh R. Moorhead, Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Otto A. Ulmer. Survivors include his loving wife, Kimberly Derby Moorhead; mother, Barbara Gaffney (John); two sons, Luke Johnson and David Moorhead; sister, Laura Moorhead Maiberger (George); brother, Stephen Reid Moorhead (Rhonda); step-sister, Michelle Hudson (Jed); nieces, Mallory Maiberger, Megan Maiberger and Jamie Hudson; nephews, Brandon Moorhead, Zach Noel, Andrew Moorhead and Alex Moorhead; many aunts, uncles and cousins; as well as his special pets, Aubie and Tiger. Visitation will be held 2-4pm Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service will be held 10:00am Monday, January 30, 2012 at Marcus Pointe Baptist Church with Rev. Gordon Godfrey officiating. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Kenny Ray Smith, Bob Price, Jr., Thomas Henry, Todd Stafford, David Keller, Billy Moore, Craig Smith and Alex Davis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tate Varsity Baseball Team, the entire team at Coastal Bank and Trust, Auburn University FIJI Brothers, Steven Barry, Russell Willis, David Mack, Ronny Douglas and William Bill Newman, Jr. Flowers are welcome or if preferred, memorial contributions may be made to the David Moorhead Scholarship Fund (c/o, Coastal Bank and Trust), Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org) and Covenant Hospice. The family would like to express a special thanks to Kelley McGowin; Dr. Thomas Sunnenberg, his staff and the entire staff of Sacred Heart Cancer Center; Dr. Herbert Gannon and the entire staff of the Joyce Goldenberg Inpatient Hospice Residence and the entire staff of the Second Floor at Sacred Heart Hospital.
