Claire Mitchell Roane, 50, of Birmingham, AL passed away July 10, 2015. Claire was born on August 25, 1964 in Pensacola, FL. She is a graduate of Washington High School and received Nursing Degrees from Pensacola Junior College, The University of South Florida and the University of Alabama-Birmingham. Claire spent her nursing career caring for babies in the neonatal units of Tampa General Hospital and UAB Women's and Infants Center. She was a Research Nurse Coordinator for the UAB Division of Neonatology. Claire was active in all areas of her church, St. Mark UMC and loved to sing, having sung with the Birmingham Concert Chorale. She loved her job and those with whom she worked. Claire was preceded in death by her father, L.L. (Roy) Roane, Jr. Survivors include mother, Mary Rogers Mitchell Roane, sister, Paula E. Roane, brother, L.L. (Roy) Roane, Ill, nephews, Michael, Patrick and Thomas. Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Wesley Wachob officiating.
