Clara W. Chew passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013. She was born in Pensacola, Fl. She graduated from high school and Florida State College of Women. She received a degree in elementary education and taught 1st grade for 34 years in Escambia County. She married Clinton J. Chew, Sr. on January 1, 1943. Together they had a son, Clinton J. Chew, Jr. Clara was preceded in death by parents, Wilmer W. White and Clara M. White, along with 6 of her siblings. Her survivors include son, Clint Chew, DVM (Nancy); two granddaughters, Kim Gellatly and Courtney Rock; four great-grandsons, Jacob, Evan, Owen, and Caleb; sister, Margie Zoellner; brother, Elmer White; numerous nieces and nephews; and former grandson-in-law, William Gellatly. Visitation will be held Friday, January 3, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00pm at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service will be 2:00pm Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Joyce Goldenberg Hospice Residence, 10075 Hillview Road, Pensacola, Florida, 23514.
