Clelland Abbott Hickerson, 74, of Pensacola passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012. Mr. Hickerson was born in Jackson, MS on July 23, 1938. He served four years in the US Air Force. He retired in 1988 after 32 years as an Air Traffic Controller with the Federal Aviation Administration. His lifetime passion was fresh and saltwater fishing. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe H. Hickerson; mother, Katie M. Hickerson; brother, Joe H. Hickerson, Jr. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Carol; sons, Mark A. Hickerson (Betsy) and James C. Hickerson (Marina); five grandchildren, Jacob, Ryan, Katie, Alyssa and Matthew; and a large extended family. Following cremation, a Private Family Memorial Ceremony will be held on December 28, 2012, and his ashes scattered on Ocheesee Pond.
