Constance "Connie" Rosique Mattair, 88, died Tuesday, August 2, 2016. Connie was a descendant of the original settlers of Pensacola. She was a 1946 graduate of Catholic High School, worked as a secretary for the City of Pensacola and Escambia County School Board and later opened a needlework shop.

She loved to create gourmet dishes for her family and friends, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, and the Bridge Club for 50 years with her longtime friends from high school.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Lloyd J. Mattair Sr., her parents, Horace J. Rosique, Sr. and Josephine Lena Taranto Rosique; brother, Horace J. Rosique, Jr.; sister, Catherine Rosique Darnell (Kitty); twin infant daughters, and daughter-in-law, Olga Mattair (wife of Wayne).

Connie is survived by her sister, Lorraine Melvin of Gulf Breeze and children, Lloyd J. Mattair, Jr. (wife Mary); their children, Amanda and Lloyd J. III of Pensacola Beach, Elaine Mattair, her children, Matthew S. Nissley (Reston, VA); his child, Genevieve J. Claflin; and Elizabeth A. Nissley (Elkridge, MD), her child Avery E. Poloski; Kenneth S. Mattair (wife Sharon); their children, Brandon K. and Chad C. of Navarre; Wayne E. Mattair of Gulf Breeze and his stepson, Jonathan of Destin, FL.

A Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at 11:00am at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 920 Via De Luna Dr., Pensacola Beach.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
