IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cynthia Sue
Alexander
May 29, 1934 – March 4, 2025
Cynthia Alexander, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at the age of 90.
Born in Pensacola, FL, she was the youngest of nine children and spent her life devoted to family, faith, and service to others. She grew up in East Pensacola Heights and attended Pensacola High School, where she built lasting friendships and a strong foundation for the life, she would go on to lead. It was in Pensacola that she met the love of her life, Harold Alexander, and together they built a beautiful marriage that lasted 52 years.
With a deep love for children, she pursued a career in early childhood education, owning and operating three daycare centers, Children's World, in Pensacola, with her business partner and friend. Her passion for nurturing young minds extended beyond her career, as she dedicated much of her time volunteering at various elementary schools. Her dedication was recognized when she was honored as Volunteer of the Year at Oakcrest Elementary School. She also dedicated much of her time to the United Ministries and The Pensacola Pilot Club.
She was an active member of Heights Baptist Church and found joy in reading, gardening, and playing Bunco with a cherished group of friends. Above all, her family was everything to her. She treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always providing love, wisdom, and encouragement. Music was another of her great loves, filling her home and heart with joy. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family and community will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
Cynthia is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Nellie Joseph Thompson; husband, Harold Alexander; her eight siblings; three children, Connie, Ron, and Bonita; son-in-law, Gerry Sutton; as well as one granddaughter, Audra Beth.
Survivors include her two daughters, Kathie Sutton and Caroline Carithers (Greg); eight grandchildren, Ashley Seitz (Ed), Lacey Ray (Chad), Izabella, Peyton and Greyson Carithers, Alecia Enfinger, Scott Alexander, and Michelle Thompson (Andy); as well as eight great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 12:30pm until a Funeral Service to celebrate her life begins at 1:30pm Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Mike Mashburn officiating. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her honor to the Alzheimer's Foundation, Heights Baptist Church, or your favorite charity.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Cherry Savage and Laura Jefferson for all their love and care over the last two years. We are eternally grateful for all your love for your "Sassy".
