IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Daisy Mingledorff
Philpot
June 17, 1949 – February 10, 2022
Daisy Mingledorff Philpot, 72, passed away on February 10, 2022, surrounded and supported by the love of her husband and two sons.
Daisy was born June 17, 1949, in Tallahassee, Florida, as the daughter of Pauline Green Mingledorff and Thomas Edmond Mingledorff. She graduated from Tallahassee's Leon High School, where she established many lifelong friends who have been a blessing through the years. Daisy also earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Southern Mississippi, and later, a master's degree from Troy University, which she utilized in pursuing her professional career in education.
A teacher by trade, Daisy naturally was the consummate educator both at work and at home. She carried a wealth of common sense, fundamental decency, core values, and an inherently unselfish instinct that inspired her caring, giving, thoughtful, and compassionate approach to helping others. Professionally, Daisy taught, and arguably somewhat raised, a thousand kids beyond her own as a public school teacher at Escambia High School and Pensacola High School, and in certain semesters, she also served as an instructor for Pensacola State College.
Daisy cherished her family, coached them at any opportunity, cheered them in every endeavor, and untiringly celebrated them and their best interests. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Edmond Mingledorff. Daisy is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Timothy Hurley Philpot of Pensacola, her sons, Timothy "Toby" Hurley Philpot, Junior, and Thomas Roy Philpot (Erin), both of Tallahassee, and her precious grandson, Truett Willem Philpot, who she was overjoyed to welcome with her adoring love over the past year. Daisy is also survived by her sister, Julie Baroco of Pensacola, her brother, Kenneth Mingledorff (Judy) of Houston, and numerous nephews and nieces who she loved dearly.
Daisy's family will celebrate her life with a visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. A private family interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
