Dale Lee Andersen, 64, of Gulf Breeze died January 10, 2010. Mr. Andersen was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa and raised on a farm in Walnut, Iowa. He graduated from Walnut High School Class of 64 and Northwest Missouri State. Dale served his country as a medic in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era, where he received a Silver Star, and a Bronze Star among many other awards. He was the Controller at Conagra, served as Vice-President of Finance at Merchants Grain and Transportation, President of Florida Marine Transporters, and was the owner of Sabine Sandbar and Dales Big Deck on Pensacola Beach. Dale leaves behind his loving family and friends. He will miss dancing with his wife, guiding his children, caring for his grandchildren, loving his parents and spoiling his dogs Rowdy and Oscar. Dale will also miss the St. Louis Cardinals, Nebraska Cornhuskers, NASCAR pools, New Orleans Saints, Key West, golfing days, wearing shorts, his baseball hat and sunglasses everywhere, and providing a place for friends to laugh and share stories about a great life. He is survived by his parents Robert and Helen Andersen; his wife of twenty years Julia Andersen; sons Derek Andersen (Debbie) and Darren Andersen (Holly); daughters Samantha Flood and Jessica Porter (Chance); granddaughters Emma Rose, Aubrie Dawn, Maiya Hope and Avery Chance (expected arrival 03/27/2010); brother Robert Andersen. Visitation will be 5:00pm-7:00pm Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service will be 11:00am Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church. Burial to follow at Bayview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Dale Andersen Memorial Fund, 3910 India Cove, Gulf Breeze, FL 32563.
