Dallas Rigby, 90, of Pace, FL died peacefully surrounded by his family on November 18, 2016.
Born and raised in Bratt, FL, he served in WWII as a Navy hospital corpsman. He worked as a medical lab technician and retired from Monsanto in 1985. Dallas, or "Dal" as many called him, loved his family, farming and gardening, fishing, and his dogs Rusty and Buddy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ely and Virgie Rigby; brothers, Verle and Al Pickern, E.L. Rigby,
and Buddy Rigby; and his sisters, Ruby Rigby, Agnes Peacock, Ernestine Hayes, and Bernice Barfield.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Virginia Jones Rigby; his son, David (Susan) Rigby; and his daughters, Rebecca (Ed) McBride, Reba (Jack) Walters, Karen (Mike) Capps, and Donna (Steve Vodanovich) Rigby; as well as his brother, Leroy Rigby and sister, Tiny Bolton. He was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 1:00pm until the Funeral Service to begin at 2:00pm Monday, November 21, 2016 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Dr. Ted Traylor officiating. Burial will follow at Godwin Cemetery in Bratt, FL.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests to extend an act of kindness to someone or you may donate to a charity of your choice.
