Daniel "Dan" S. Davis, Sr., age 87, passed into heaven on Saturday, March 15, 2025. He was a strong believer - accepting Christ on March 1, 1961, a husband, father, leader, and musician. He was married to the love of his life, Lydia, for sixty-three years. He raised three successful children in a house full of love, humor, and music. He was so proud of them and their spouses. Whether his kids were born into the family or married into it, he loved them all the same.

Dan was a faithful employee of Bell Steel Company for fifty-five years and contributed to many projects here and around the world. The Pensacola Oratorio Society, which later became the Pensacola Choral Society, served as an outlet for his love of music for fifty-two years. He directed and sang in many choirs over the years. His artistic ability extended not only to music, but also to house plans, pencil drawings, Etch-A-Sketches, sidewalk chalk, and beach sand. He also loved nature, Ford cars, and ensuring that those around him were successful.  Dan was a member of Olive Baptist Church and considered his relationship with Christ as the most important thing in his life. Dan left an outsized impact on those around him and will be greatly missed.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents, Louis Davis and Eva Mae Davis Coe.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of sixty-three years, Lydia Grant Davis; two daughters, Cheryl Davis Rabold (David) and Jane Davis Art (Larry); a son, Daniel Stephen Davis, Jr. (Elvira); grandchildren, Shawn Rabold, Daniel Rabold (Christalynn), Daniel Stephen Davis, III (Sara), Benjamin Davis, John Art and Lydia Art; one great granddaughter; his sister, Patricia Davis Gorman.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the Funeral Service begins at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Olive Baptist Church, with Mr. Jon Dubois, Minister, serving as officiant.

A Graveside Service will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola, with military honors being accorded by the United States Army. For those wishing to attend the service, we ask that you meet at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel at 8:15 A.M. to line up for police procession to the cemetery, departing at 8:25 A.M.
