Obituary

Daniel Lee Everman, 57, of Pensacola, FL passed away June 6, 2009 surrounded by family and caring hospice personnel after a long battle with liver disease complicated by other illnesses. Dan was born August 7, 1951 in Ashland, KY but has lived most of his life in Pensacola, FL with the exception of employment moves that led him to Atlanta, GA and the Washington, DC area. He retired from Cisco Systems and returned to Pensacola in 2001. He is preceded in death by his father, Forrest G. Everman and his Boston Terrier, (his boy ), Sandy Water. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Ruth W. Everman, sister and brother-in-law Suzan (Suzi) Wheeler-Beck and Michael Beck, nieces Crystal Wheeler and Starla Wheeler, brother and sister-in-law, John Everman and Jeanne Everman, nephew Matthew Everman, his beloved Boston Terrier, Muddy Water, along with numerous other close relatives and friends. Along with being a well-known drummer in Pensacola, Dan was also a computer programmer/web designer, software engineer and a technical writer for instructional computer program manuals. He was a member of the Society for Technical Communications. Dan was a graduate of Pensacola High School. He had earned his Associates Degree in General Studies from Pensacola Junior College, earned a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science at University of West Florida and earned a Masters Degree in Creative Writing at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. He was a member of Unity of Pensacola and his spirituality was a very important part of his life. A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2009 at Harper Morris Memorial Chapel from 2:00pm until services for a celebration of his life begin 4:00pm with the Rev. Jamie Sanders of Unity of Pensacola officiating. Friends are invited to speak and share a few moments of their fond memories of Dan with the family. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Covenant Hospice, especially Zelda, Pam, Sunday and Johnny for the excellent love, care and assistance received.
