Daniel Godfrey Kirk, 86, of Pensacola died Monday August 22, 2016 in Pensacola, FL. He was born May 2, 1930 in Hammond, IN to Godfrey and Emily (Navta) Krc. On November 29, 1952 in Vincennes, IN he married Barbara Jane "B.J." Yates.

Mr. Kirk was a long-time member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in West Lafayette, IN and later a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Pensacola, FL. He was a 1948 graduate of George Rogers Clark High School in Hammond, IN. He received his B.S. in Pharmacy from Purdue University in 1952. In the Army, Dan was stationed at Walter Reed Army Medical Center near Washington D. C. from 1953-55. Dan studied and earned a certificate with the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) group in 1968. He sold insurance with College Life for 40+ years. Dan also was a pharmacist for Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette for many years. He was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity at Purdue, and he was also a proud official member of the Die Hard Cubs Fan Club. Dan enjoyed working with the Habitat for Humanity group and was a member of the Kiwanis Club in Indiana, serving multiple terms as the President of the Club in Monticello. Dan loved spending time with his family on boating excursions.

He was a wonderful husband, father and granddaddy.

He is survived by two daughters; Kathryn Jane Kirk of St. Peters, MO and Linda Susan (Robby) Brown of Pensacola, FL; a son, Steven Daniel Kirk of Lockport, IL and 5 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, B.J. Kirk; by a son, Jeffrey Clark Kirk, who passed away in 1960 at the age of 3; as well as his sister, Vera (Krc) Canfield and brother, John (Jack) Krc.

Memorial visitation will be Tuesday August 30, 2016 from 3-4 pm followed by a Memorial service at 4 pm at Grace Lutheran Church located at 6601 N. 9th Ave., Pensacola, FL 32504. Rev. Phillip Phifer will officiate services in Pensacola.

A separate Visitation/Memorial will be held on Wednesday September 14, 2016 at Redeemer Lutheran Church located at 510 Lindberg Rd., West Lafayette, IN 47906. Visitation will be from 9:30-11 am followed by a Memorial service at 11 am with Rev. Joe Townsend officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Redeemer Lutheran Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
