David Ralph Bird, III, 61, of Pace, FL died after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, April 6, 2022.
David was born on January 27, 1961, in Norfolk, VA to Ann (Miller) and David Ralph Bird, Jr. In 1979, David graduated from Pensacola Catholic High School where he was on the basketball and golf teams and in the Ski Club. He was named Who's Who among American High School Students, a list of high school students who excelled in academics, extracurricular activities, and community service. David then attended and in 1984, graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. After graduating he went into the Plumbing Industry working for Gorman Co. for 25 years as the manager. In 2012, he started work at Southern Pipe & Supply as their Commercial outside Salesperson until his death.
David married Regina Edge in 1994 and started their family.
David was an amazing family man, son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He loved golfing, hunting, and fishing and spending time outdoors at OUBASS Plantation in Robertsdale, AL. He loved Auburn Football with a passion.
David is preceded in death by his parents, CDR David Ralph Bird Jr. and Betty Ann Miller Bird.
David leaves behind his loving wife of 28 years, Regina "Gina" Bird; two daughters, Jessica Bird and Jennifer Nabulsi (Mootaz "Taz"); two grandchildren, Averie and Jacob Duke; sister, Martha Gardner; five brothers, VADM John Bird, USN (ret.) (Nonie), Martin Bird (Teresa), James Bird (Theresa), COL Michael Bird, US Army (ret.) (Tonya), Jeff Bird (Kelly); nieces and nephews, Chris, Michael (Sara), David (Nicki), Jack (Mollie), Elizabeth (Tim), Ryan, Brittany, Ryan, Rachell, Jeremy (Tara), Daniel, Maggie (Eugene), William, George, Charles; five great nieces and two great nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:00pm until the Memorial Services at 3:00pm Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with Chaplain Jeff Tisdale of Vitas Hospice officiating.
The Bird Family would like to extend special thanks to everyone at Southern Pipe & Supply, Vitas Hospice Health Care, David's caregivers Erika Asmar, Neenee, and Chaplain Jeff Tisdale for their love, care, and support to David and our family during the very difficult time.
