David James Donahue, 75 of Pensacola died Tuesday, November 22, 2011. Mr. Donahue was born on December 3, 1935 in Clinton, IA and was raised in New Orleans, LA. He graduated from St. Stanislaus High School in Bay St. Louis, MS and attended Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA. He served his country in the U S Army. Mr. Donahue worked for Brown Forman Distillers form 1963 " 70 and Heublein Wine International form 1973-78. From 1970-72 he was the publisher of the Miamian magazine. In 1978 Mr. Donahue and his family moved to Pensacola where he owned and operated Donahues Liquors until 2003. He served on the Gateway District Review Board, and was a member of the Irish Politicians Club and the Flat Earth Society. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Julia Donahue; brother, Fr. Francis X. Donahue, S.J.; and sister, Ruth Donahue. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Frances Whitty (Kitty) Donahue; daughter, Kathleen Donahue (Keith Clayton); grandson, David Clayton of Washington DC; sisters, Rose Mackel and Julie Donahue both of Atlanta, GA; brother John Donahue of Pensacola. A Memorial Service will be held 11:30am Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel.
