David Lee Scales, age 66, of Pensacola, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2026. David was born on February 27, 1960, in Shelbyville, IN.

David was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose kindness and easygoing spirit touched everyone who knew him. Known by many as “a friend to all and an enemy to none,” David built a life centered around family, hard work, and enjoying the simple things that brought happiness to those around him.

As the proud owner and operator of David Scales Painting and Repair, David dedicated many years to serving the community through his craftsmanship, reliability, and strong work ethic. He took pride in helping others and built lasting relationships with customers and friends alike.

Outside of work, David found joy in relaxing by the pool, caring for his garden, spending time with the people he loved most, and sharing good food with family and friends. He had a true passion for cooking and loved feeding the people around him. He had a warm personality, a generous heart, and a way of making everyone feel welcome.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey and Dorothy Scales.

David is survived by his loving wife, Susan Scales; his son, Chris Scales and wife Kristen; his daughter, Candice Scales; his cherished grandchildren, Brayden Scales and Lorelei Scales; and his sister, Debra Scales. He also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him greatly.

A Celebration of Life honoring David will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Moose Lodge, 8851 Lewis St, Pensacola, FL 32514.

David’s memory will live on through the countless lives he touched with his kindness, humor, and friendship.
