Harold Tait, 72, passed away at his home on January 21, 2010. Harold was born in Wilcox County, Alabama to Lucas Edwin Tait and Matilda Fairly Tait who preceded him in death. He served in the United States Army and spent 44 years in the pulp and paper industry with Gulf States Paper Corp. and Alabama River Pulp. After retirement, he relocated from Monroeville, Alabama to Pensacola. Harold is survived by his wife of 54 years, Caralie Vick Tait; a son, David Harold Tait, Jr. and his wife, Toni; a daughter Vicki Baker and her husband, Jay; four grandchildren: Cara Shamblin White and her husband, Wayne; Drew Shamblin and his wife, Brittany; Trey and Kyle Tait; and four great-grandchildren: Chase, Gabe and Tucker White and Caleb Shamblin. He is also survived by three brothers and three sisters. Services will be held at McIlwain Memorial Presbyterian Church on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation at the church one hour prior to the service. Graveside services will be held at the Tait Family Cemetery in Coy, Alabama, at 3:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be David Kennedy, Kenneth Fairly, Pat DeLong and Harolds three grandsons, Drew Shamblin, Trey and Kyle Tait. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the March of Dimes, Sacred Heart Childrens Hospital or a charity of your choice. HARPER-MORRIS MEMORIAL CHAPEL is in charge of arrangements.
