Debra ( Debbie ) Copp Patton, age 59, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday morning December 15, 2010 at Hospice in Jacksonville, FL. She fought a near decade-long battle with cancer, showing remarkable courage and inner strength throughout the process. Debbie was born in Indiana but her family moved to Pensacola shortly thereafter. She is a graduate of Escambia High School and spent her working career employed with General Motors Acceptance Corporation as a customer representative. Family and friends will remember her for her kindness, graciousness, and concern for others. She also had a love for the beach, music, cooking, gardening, and animals; especially the several dogs she kept close throughout her lifetime. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Faith Copp. She is survived by her husband Tom Patton with whom she resided in Jacksonville, FL; her son Dustin Sanderson, Pensacola; two brothers in Pensacola, Terry Copp (Louise) and Calvin Copp; one sister/ best friend/ faithful caregiver, Becky Lee (Tommy), Jacksonville; and a very special friend and caregiver, Doreatha Adams, Jacksonville, FL. She also has many loving nieces, nephews, and family acquaintances. A service will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Family will host a visitation one hour prior to the service at 9:30 am at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Bayview Memorial Park.
