Deena Marie (Nelson) Mosier, 45, of Pensacola, FL passed away unexpectedly on December 13, 2014. Born in Bloomington, IN on June 28, 1969, she was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Indianapolis, IN and attended Indiana University. Primarily serving as a wonderful mother to her four children and loving wife to her husband, she also worked as a teacher's assistant, in addition to volunteering at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church/School and the St. Vincent de Paul Society. A Navy wife for over 22 years, she proudly supported her military family throughout multiple overseas tours of duty, extended deployments, and over a dozen permanent change of station moves. Deena loved quilting, collecting antiques and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Pensacola where she served as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. She is survived by her husband, Captain John R. Mosier, Jr., U.S. Navy of Pensacola and children; John R. Mosier, III, of Washington, DC, Grace K. Mosier, Anne M. Mosier and Joseph N. Mosier each of Pensacola. Also surviving are her parents; Sandra K. Nelson of Indianapolis, IN and Richard H. Nelson of Carmel, IN; a brother, Scott E. Nelson of Conway, SC and her parents-in-law, John R. Mosier, Sr. and Linda Elliott Mosier of Rices Landing, PA. Three sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law also survive, as well as a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins. A Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 5:00pm, immediately followed by visitation until 7:00pm at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Pensacola, FL. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at 11:00am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Msgr. James Flaherty officiating. Inurnment of cremated remains will occur at Barrancas National Cemetery at a future date.
