Deleen B. Stevens, 90, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2015. Deleen was born November 16, 1924 in Gainesville, GA to Eugene and Myrtle Buffington. She graduated from Berry College in Mt. Berry, GA and moved to Pensacola in 1950 to work for the Escambia County Extension Office as an Assistant Home Demonstration Agent, prior to starting her family. She met and married the love of her life, Mansur K. Stevens, Jr. on August 2, 1952. Deleen was a member of the Mary Martha Sunday School class at Gadsden St. United Methodist Church since 1957 and a member of Gadsden St. UMC since 1964. She volunteered at Sacred Heart Hospital for over 40 years. She loved the Lord, reading, gardening, shopping and her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Myrtle Buffington; sisters, Louise Keim and Icey Johns and a brother, Grady Buffington. She is survived by her husband, Mansur K. Stevens, Jr.; daughters, Mary Jo Stevens of Pensacola and Barbara Stevens Fobes (Michael) of Mobile, AL; a son, Edward M. Stevens, Sr. (Cynthia) of Pensacola; 3 grandchildren, Jason Sullivan, Edward Stevens, Jr. and Andrew Stevens; 1 great grandchild, Tory Sullivan; a brother, Benjamin Eugene Buffington (Naomi) of Warrenton, GA along with numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 5-7pm Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 10:30am Friday, November 13, 2015 from Gadsden St. United Methodist Church with Rev. Bobby Ellisor officiating. Burial follows at Barrancas National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Randy Keim, a nephew and Frank Lovett.
