Delma "Ray" Baker, 84, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Monday, December 10, 2012. He was born in Opp, AL to Wade and Lucille Baker. "Ray" graduated from Opp High School where he played football. He served in the US Air Force from 1949-1961, where he served as an aircraft crew chief with duty stations in Texas, Maine, North Africa, South Dakota, Puerto Rico, Ohio, Ft. Walton Beach, FL and Montgomery, AL. In 1961, he began a career in automotive service in Pensacola, retiring in 1992. "Ray" served as a Deacon and was a member of Pine Forest Assembly of God. Preceding him in death were his parents; Johnnie Wade and Minnie Lucille Baker along with a brother, Eddie Gene Baker. His survivors include his wife of 62 years, Julia Baker; daughters, Judy LaBit (James) and Gail Adams; a son, Gary Baker (Renee); grandchildren; Richard Kilpatrick (Liene), Jason Kilpatrick (Kim), Heather Goodnight, Elizabeth Adams-Brooking (Rob), Abigail Adams, John Adams (Angela), Eric Baker, Nicole Baker and Alyssa Baker; 10 greatgrandchildren; his brother, Thomas E. Baker and a sister-in-law, Mary Baker. Visitation will be held from 5-7pm Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 9:30am Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Rev. Gene Hudson officiating. Burial will follow with Air Force honors at Barrancas National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice, Milton office, 6479 Caroline St., Suite B, Milton, FL 32570.
