Denver Douglas “Doug” Hicks, Sr., also known as Pappy, 83, of Pensacola, FL passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 8, 2026.

Doug was born in West Virginia on May 6, 1942. He loved his family and enjoyed mullet fishing, hunting, and family reunions. Doug loved making jokes along with a smile that will never be forgotten. He will dearly be missed by all that loved him.

Doug is preceded in death by his parents, Denver Cecile Hicks and Wilda Young Hicks.

Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Lois Bobe Hicks; three children, Patricia Caddell, Charlene Warren, and Denver Doulas Hicks Jr.; his loving sisters, Judy Epperly, Shirley Stewart, and Brenda Morton; as well as six grandchildren and one great-grandchild, that love him dearly.

A visitation will be held from 1:00pm until a funeral service begins at 2:00pm Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Mike Mashburn officiating. Interment will follow at Roberts Cemetery.
