Saying Goodbye to a loved one. August 23, 2023, Derek Matthew Tracy, a beloved father, son, and friend passed away at the young age of 38 years old.

For any of us who had the opportunity to spend time with Derek, we truly know what a tragic loss this is. He loved his family and friends. He had a way of bringing joy and energy to a room that would fill the hearts of everyone lucky enough to be involved. He will be greatly missed and the lives of those who loved him will never be the same.

Derek had an eye for detail, an inherent artistic talent, and a natural athleticism. This led him to a job making architectural models for Columbia Models. After several years at Columbia, he moved on to become a union electrician for IBEW Local 134. Professional career aside, his most cherished moments were spent with his children, whom he loved dearly.

Derek is survived by his mother, Jackie Delli Colli; stepfather, Doug Wilkerson; father, William Tracy; brother, Anthony Tracy; stepsister, Brittany Wilkerson; his four children, Vincent, Anthony, Derek, and Emilia Delli Colli; their mother, Courtney Connelly; her parents, Debra and Sean Connelly; his maternal and paternal grandmother's, Connie Haire and Barbara Tracy; as well as a vast amount of cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Derek is preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Smedley; his grandfathers, Joseph Delli Colli and Clyde Tracy; as well as his grandmother, Dorothy Wilkerson.

Memorial Mass will be held 11:00am Saturday, November 11, 2023, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, with Msgr. Michael Reed celebrant. A reception will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
