IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dianne F.
Johnson
January 30, 1935 – October 24, 2018
Dianne Johnson, age 83 of Pensacola passed away on Oct 24. She was born in Yakima, Washington and her family moved to Pensacola in 1941 which is where her mother, Christine, grew up. She graduated from PHS in 1953 and enjoyed being a part of multiple clubs in high school including Y-Teens, Girls Sports Club, Pep Club and Glee Club. After attending FSU for a year, she married the LOVE of her life, "Coot" Johnson in August 1954. Coot and Dianne just celebrated their 64 th wedding anniversary. After moving around to various locations and having three kids in four years, they moved permanently back to Pensacola in October 1964. Dianne went back to college at UWF and earned a degree in History. She taught 8 th grade Civics at Ferry Pass Middle School from 1969 through 1989. (Her husband also went back to school and taught math at Ferry Pass). After retirement, Coot and Dianne started playing golf five days a week at Stonebrook. They also went to North Carolina for one week each summer (with their now grown kids) to play 36 holes of golf every day. During one of those trips, Dianne shot a hole in one! Dianne also loved watching sports and especially college football (Gators and FSU). She bowled in multiple leagues and made the All Star Team with a 172 average. She had a fantastic memory and never needed a written to-to list. She also had a quick wit and a superb sense of humor. Even five days before her death, one of her daughter's came to visit and asked if she needed anything. Her reply was "Yes. A new body!" She will be so missed by her husband, her children and all those that had the pleasure of knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Christine Eichelberger and her granddaughter, Brittney Nicole Godfrey.
