Dolores Bookout, of Pensacola, passed away Friday morning, October 12, 2012, at home surrounded by family and friends. Dolores was born in Pensacola, the youngest of six children, to Houston and Lottie Wall. She attended Pensacola High School where she met her late husband, Paul M. Bookout. While in high school, she was a car hop at the Pensacola Dairy Company, the milk bottle shaped ice cream shop on Gregory Street. She was a graduate of the Pensacola Junior College Cosmetology Program, and worked many years as her husband's bookkeeper for the family business, Bookout Electric. Always a beauty, Dolores did some local modeling, and later in her life decided to learn to ski. She joined the Pensacola Ski Club, held numerous positions and acted as a trip leader. She traveled all over the U.S., Canada and Europe with the ski club. Her most outstanding gift was being a kind and loving mother to her children and grandchildren. She was always there with warm meals, packed lunches, PTA, Scouts, basketball games, musical performances or any where she was needed. She was always dressed to perfection, so she loved a day at the mall and shopping. She and her husband, Paul, were members of First Baptist Church where she was active in Bible Study and other ministries. Dolores will be missed by her surviving children, Ken Bookout (Trish), Brenda Bookout Glasser (Bill Dee), Jeff Bookout (Rhonda), her grandchildren, Zachary Bookout, Sarah Glasser Tucker (John), Emily Glasser, Desere' Bookout, and her three great-grandchildren, Adeline Tucker, Agustus Tucker and Dakota Downing. She is also survived by her sister Arlene Wall Pacetti, sister-in-law, Boots Bookout Bonifay, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 1:00pm until the Funeral Service to begin at 2:00pm Wednesday, October 17, 2012 in the Pleitz Chapel at First Baptist Church, 500 N. Palafox St., Pensacola, FL. Dr. Barry Howard will officiate. Special thanks to First Baptist Church's Homebound Ministry and Covenant Hospice.
