Obituary

Dominic Frank Beovich, Jr., 78, passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, October 1, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maude McVoy Beovich and Dominic Frank Beovich. Frank was born and lived his life in Pensacola, FL. He was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He graduated from Pensacola Catholic High School and then attended Marion Military Institute. He is a graduate of Auburn University (War Eagle!) where he majored in Business and was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. He received his master's degree from Florida State University in Counseling. Frank was a sweet, kind man who always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. He worked as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor with the State of Florida where he helped many people attain their goals. He was a member of the Pensacola Yacht Club, Past President of the Sacred Heart Cathedral Parish Council, Past Chairman of the March of Dimes, coached little league baseball and had been a Boy Scout Leader for Troop 608. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and boating. Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, MaryAnne Sims Beovich; son, Dominic Frank Beovich, III of Gulf Breeze; daughters, Elizabeth Anne "Betsy" Walker (Harry) of Pensacola and Mary Clayton "Molly" O'Connor (Rick) of Pensacola; grandsons, Drew O'Connor (Lindsay) of Pace, Dominic "Nic" Beovich and Eric Beovich of Gulf Breeze and Harry Walker, III of Pensacola; granddaughters, Shannon O'Connor, Catherine O'Connor, Madison Walker and Jordan Walker all of Pensacola and sister, Janis Shannon (Henry) of Pensacola. Pallbearers will be Edwin A. Frank, Cecil Lanier, J. Brent Watson, James D. Myers, Jim Sims, Rick O'Connor, Harry Walker, II and his grandsons, Drew O'Connor, Dominic "Nic" Beovich, Eric Beovich and Harry Walker, III. The family would like to give special thanks to the doctors and nurses of Sacred Heart Hospital, especially Dr. F. Brooks Hodnette, Dr. Human Humeda, Dr. Edward Friedland and Dr. Jay Erickson, who have all taken such wonderful care of him during this lengthy illness. Visitation will be held at 9:30am until the Funeral Mass to begin at 10:30am on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart with Msgr. Raymond Mullins celebrant. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
