Donald Leroy Brown, 91, passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2025, after a short illness.
He was born to Hamilton Weldin Brown and Nellie Fife Brown on April 18, 1934, in Pittsburgh, PA. As the third of six children, he was the last surviving sibling.
Don graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in June 1956 and went on to graduate from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, being ordained in May 1959. He became the organizing minister of the Covenant Presbyterian Church in 1961 and began his doctoral studies at San Francisco Theological Seminary in January 1979.
Don dedicated more than 40 years of service to the Presbyterian Church. His contribution ranged from founding his community church in Hagerstown, MD to participating in the General Assembly and traveling to Latin America, South Africa and China.
Don served as Parish Associate at First Presbyterian Church of Pensacola from October 1998 through 2001.
In 1977, Don married Margy and together they nurtured a loving and patient commitment to each other and their four children.
Don is survived by his sons, Tim Brown (Jennifer) and Steve Brown; his daughters, Kathy Goldsborough (Ridgely) and Andrea Giuttari (Biagio); as well as six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held 3:00pm Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at First Presbyterian Church, Pensacola, FL.
