Dr. Donald Schlueter, of Gulf Breeze, FL., passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2018.
Don graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin. He was a professor and practiced Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. He specialized in medico legal and workplace allergens. He was published in many peer reviewed journals. He was also the recipient of numerous awards. He was a national Paul Harris Fellow with the Gulf Breeze Rotarians. He was very involved with the Pensacola Opera and Pensacola Symphony Orchestra. He was a past president of the Board of Directors of the National Lung Association and served as the medical advisor on the Board of the NWF American Cancer Society.
He was preceded in death by wives, Doris Freund Schlueter and Joan King Schlueter and siblings, Delores, Robert and Rosie.
He is survived by his wife, Mardi Vick McDaniel; son, Paul Schlueter (Karen); grandson, Eric (Jessica); great granddaughter, Lily and nieces, Susan and Shirley Jollie.
A memorial visitation will be held from 10:30 am until the memorial mass begins at 11:00 am on Friday, November 30, 2018 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 100 Daniel Drive, Gulf Breeze, FL., 32562 with Msgr. Luke Hunt officiating. A reception will be held in the Parrish Hall following the service.
In lieu of flowers: memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the Angel Wing at the Sacred Heart Haven of Our Lady of Peace.
