Donna Hjerpe Henderson, 65, passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 16, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. Donna was born on November 1, 1948 in Chicago, IL to Warren and Barbara Hjerpe. As a child, she loved spending her summers with her siblings in Spread Eagle, WI. Donna graduated from the University of Mississippi with a degree in education. She spent nearly 40 years enriching the lives of children through her spirited and enthusiastic approach to education. She was recognized for this gift by receiving the Shelby County, TN Teacher of the Year Award in 1999. Donna was always the life of the party; either the first on the dance floor or gathering everyone for games. Donna and her loving husband, Butch Brown, enjoyed spending time with family and most of all, spending time with their grandkids. She touched countless lives and will be missed everyday. Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Barbara Hjerpe and beloved aunt, Margie Amato. She is survived by her husband, Butch Brown; children, Kari Foxworth (Brian) and Chad Henderson (Brooke); step daughter, Shelly Huddleston (Russ); grandchildren, Paige, Cal, Charlie and Archie; step-grandchildren, Tiffany, Hannah, and Grace; siblings, Terry Sovey (Ken), Bobbi Caccamisi (Joe), Chuck Hjerpe (Cindy), Sue Langford (Ed), Steve Hjerpe (Karen) and Uncle Tony Amato as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at 10:00am Monday, July 21, 2014 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, Pensacola, FL with the Funeral service beginning at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park, Pensacola, FL. Her family would like to give a special thanks to her care team; especially, Dr. Madison Michael and Gail (Semmes-Murphy, Memphis, TN), the nurses and doctors of 3 West at Baptist Hospital, and Dr. Colby Maher.
