Donna Gayle McDavid, 80, passed away early morning on Thursday, December 15, 2022, after a brief and unexpected downturn in health.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Wilton Herbert "Herb" McDavid, Jr.; her parents, Adrian Carrell Moore and Joyce Glendora Moore; as well as her brother, Gary Carrell Moore.

She is survived by her son, Wilton Herbert "Tripp" McDavid, III (Rhonda); grandchildren, Maggie Joy and Matthew Timothy McDavid; her daughter, Shannon Andrea McDavid; her brother, Mark Farrin Moore (Linda); as well as a nephew, Adrian Cody Moore-Watts.

Growing up in Myrtle Grove, Donna graduated from Pensacola Technical HS in 1960. She and Herb married December 1962. Following Herb's Navy career, Donna attended PJC and UWF earning Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Elementary Education all while raising a family. She began her love for teaching at Montclair Elementary in 1979, then transferred to Scenic Heights Elementary teaching 2nd grade for over 25 years, retiring in 2011. Donna enjoyed cruising the world, playing Bunco and Mahjong with her "posse" and was a member of Cokesbury UMC. Donna was beloved for her encouraging spirit, her genuine love for family and friends, and her glowing smile.

Visitation will be held 10:30am until a Celebration of Life Service to begin at 11:30am Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Bobby Ellisor officiating. Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.
