Dora Will passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 26, 2011. She was born May 14, 1917 in Bonifay, FL. She was the elder child of WO "Bill" Dyson and Viola Douglass Dyson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband E. Franklin Burleson, daughter Elizabeth Burleson Miller and all of her siblings, sisters Bernice D. McCurdy, Cleo D. Mitchell and brother Charles A. Dyson. She is survived by a daughter; Sarah Burleson Boyer Davis of Washington, GA, two sons; Rev. Edison F. Burleson (Sylvia) and Douglass M. Burleson Sr. of Pensacola, FL. She was called "Pudgy" affectionally by her grandchildren; David Burleson (Diane) of Milton, FL, Ginger Burleson Blackmon of Jay, FL, Tom Miller (Debbie) of Greenwood, SC, Scott Miller (Sheri) of Saluda, SC, Dale Boyer (Ginger) of Greenwood, SC, Tracy Boyer McAvoy (Brett) of Washington, GA, Dawn Boyer Barwick (Joe) of Pensacola, FL and D. Michael Burleson, Jr. of Foley, AL, 14 great grandchildren and two great-great granddaughters. Mrs. Burleson was employed for over 30 years by St. Regis Paper Company in the Bag Plant retiring in 1982. She was a charter member of St. Mark United Methodist Church and a member of the Christian Worker Sunday School Class. Mrs. Burleson was a life member of Florence Carter Easter Star Chapter #273, and was a poll worker at her voting precinct #114 for many years. Visitation will be held at St. Mark United Methodist Church from 2-4pm Sunday, July 31, 2011 with a Funeral service beginning at 4pm with Rev. Nancy Watson officiating. A private burial will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery. The family request memorials be made to St. Mark United Methodist Church, 2203 N.12th Ave., Pensacola, FL 32503 in her memory.
