A long-time resident of the Pensacola area, she was born in Bratt, FL, on December 7, 1927, to Julius Oscar and Lennie Miles Wearren. Following graduation from Earnest Ward High School, Doris began a successful career in a variety of administrative positions. These include Stenographer, Secretary, Executive Assistant, Legal Secretary, and Medical Secretary. She married the love of her life, Raymond Delton Brown in 1948 and moved to Indianapolis. After her 33-year marriage ended with the death of her beloved husband, Doris moved back to Pensacola to be closer to her family. She continued her work in Eastern Star by serving as an officer in the Pensacola Chapter... She also was an active member of Scenic Heights Baptist Church and later, Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church. In addition, she served as chairwoman of the Bayview Pinochle Club for many years. Recently, she enjoyed living in a retirement community in Pensacola.
