Dorothy S. Gilmore passed from this life at the age of 93 and was united with her Heavenly Father on June 5, 2016. She was born on February 4, 1923 in Pensacola and was pre-deceased by her husband, John C. Gilmore, Sr., in 2000. She was also pre-deceased by her parents Gustaf Hjalmar Swinson and Gradie Murfee Swinson as well as her sisters, Evelyn de la Rua and Hilda Conrad. She is survived by her son, John C. Gilmore, Jr. and his wife, Margaret; two grandsons, Bruce Gilmore and his wife Allison, and John Blake Gilmore. She also enjoyed her two great grandchildren, Lindsey and Clark Gilmore. She was a long time member of Warrington Baptist Church, a graduate of Pensacola High School, Pensacola Junior College and a career civil service employee of Pensacola Naval Air Station. A graveside interment service will be held at Bayview Memorial Park on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 4:00pm with Dr. Ted Traylor officiating.
