Dorothy Jane Jimmerson Yeakle, 94 passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2018.

Dorothy was born in Griffin, GA on July 27, 1923. Her family moved to Montgomery, AL where she spent most of her childhood and teenage years. She attended Stratford for two years, then transferred to the University of Alabama where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. Upon graduation she became a Delta Airlines stewardess, at which time she met Ronald Neal Yeakle, whom soon became her husband. They had a long, happy marriage of 71 years. The family moved from Atlanta to Pensacola in 1956. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church, IMPACT, 21 Club, Mardi Gras and Civic organizations. She loved to travel and play bridge.

She is preceded in death by her parents, David Charles and Lena Mae (David) Jimmerson; spouse, Ronald Neal Yeakle; her younger sister, Mary George Jimmerson McKenzie.

Dorothy is survived by daughters, Priscilla Carroll (Sam), Suzanne O'Meara (John); brother, David Charles Jimmerson; grandchildren, Sam J. Carroll, IV (Kacy), Ronald P. Carroll (Anna), David Neal Carroll (Anne Turner), Rebecca Suzanne Sims (Lee), Patrick O'Meara and 8 great grandchildren.

Memorial Service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, March 3, 2018 at First United Methodist Church. A Memorial Service will be held at Azalea Trace on Sunday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 6 E. Wright St., Pensacola, FL 32501 or Covenant Care Hospice, 5041 N. 12 ^th Ave., Pensacola, FL 32504.
