Obituary

Dorothy Molloy ("Dot" to her friends and acquaintances), age 90, of Pensacola passed away peacefully in her residence on Saturday, March 21, 2015 just a week from her 91st birthday. Dot was born March 27, 1924 in Bancroft, IA to John W. Brink and Frances F. Brink. Along with her husband and two sons, Dot moved to Pensacola in 1956, where she was employed for fifteen years as a hostess at Martine's Restaurant. Dot also worked in retail womens' clothing sales at Sam's Style Shop (later known as Banker's Note) until her retirement in 1984. Dot was preceded in death by her parents, John and Frances Brink; by her beloved husband of 49 years, Melvin Molloy in 1990 and by her son, Roger James Molloy in 2011. She is survived by her son, Jon Richard Molloy (Vickie) of Pensacola; grandsons, Roger James Molloy, Jr. of Austin, TX and David Michael Molloy (Jennifer) of Houston, TX; granddaughter Mandy Molloy LeBlanc (Michael) of Hingham, MA; four great-grandchildren, Bailey, Colin and Madison Molloy and Gavin Leblanc; and by her sister, Marie Crowley of Knoxville, IA. Visitation with family and friends will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, 2276 Airport Blvd. in Pensacola with a Memorial ceremony in celebration of Dorothy's life following immediately afterwards at 12:00 noon with the Rev. Fr. Richard L. Altenbaugh officiating. At a later date, Dot will be inurned with her late husband at Barrancas National Cemetery. Dot's family expresses their deep appreciation and gratitude to the dedicated management and staff at Carpenter's Creek Senior Living Community in Pensacola, her home for the past 21 months and to Covenant Hospice for their reassuring presence, care and assistance in her final days. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dot's name may be made to the American Lung Society to support education and research programs for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) prevention and treatment or to a charity of choice.
