IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dorothy Leah
Rogers
August 4, 1925 – May 28, 2022
Dorothy Leah Rogers, 96, of Pensacola, FL, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2022.
Leah was born in McKinney, TX, and attended Business College in Texas. Leah opened her first ceramic shop in Gerber, CA in 1955. The family moved to Las Vegas in 1957 and then to Pensacola in 1969. After moving to Pensacola, she opened "Ceramics By Leah" at her home and later moved the business to Burgess Road where it remains today. Mom worked 6 days a week and loved what she did, she actually worked the day she was admitted to the hospital. When asked why she continued to work all these years, she always answered "You got to have a reason to get out of bed in the morning."
Mom loved each and everyone of her customers as much as they loved her. Always referring to them as the "chickadees." We cannot begin to name all the wonderful friends and customers that have helped mom over the years. Please know that we are forever grateful to each of you.
There was never ever a time that her family didn't come first. We all knew how much we were loved. We take great comfort in knowing that mom is having a blessed reunion with our brother and dad.
Leah is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd and son, Lee Allen.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Simmons of Pace, FL; sons, Lloyd D. Rogers (wife, Linda) of Tennessee and Billy Ray Rogers of Pensacola, FL; daughter-in-law, Susan Wethington of Arizona; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
A memorial visitation will be held 10:00am until the memorial service begins at 12:00noon Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel.
Special thanks to JoAnne Kast, her special friend and helper! We love you so much!
