Obituary

MSgt Douglas Allen Campfield, USAF (ret.), 56, of Pensacola, FL passed away peacefully Monday, September 13, 2021, after a lengthy illness.

He was born July 28,1965, in Fairbanks, AL. Douglas proudly served his country 24 years in the US Air Force. He retired on November 30, 2011. Most of his service was spent overseas in Germany and Italy. After Doug retired, he remained in his happy place, Aviano, Italy. He was living la dolce vita.

His passion for a healthy lifestyle and abundant outdoor life, had him hiking, snowshoeing, cycling, and running marathons. Doug will be remembered as the cappuccino aficionado. He taught many family and friends the art of making the perfect cappuccino. Doug will forever be remembered for his compassionate heart, love of helping others, his contagious smile, "the Doug laugh", his love for helping animals and his adventurous spirit.

Doug is survived by his loving parents and stepparents, Mary (Thomas) Banjanin of Pensacola, FL and Frank (Sarah) Campfield of Clermont, FL; four children, Jessica Campfield of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, Jeremy (Jessica) Campfield of Germany, Jordan Dewitt of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, and Joshua Campfield of Crawford, CO; as well as his three siblings, Tracie (Michael) Miller of St Cloud, FL; Terrie (John) Grammer of Pensacola, FL and Gregory (Cheryl) Campfield of Geneva, FL. Doug loved and adored his five beautiful grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Douglas had many friends all around the world, including Barry Mueller of Aviano, Italy and his very special friend, Tizianna Coni of Aviano, Italy. Doug had two dogs, Monty and Dexter, who were his dearest companions for many years.

Visitation will be held 12:00noon until a Funeral Service to begin at 1:00pm Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, 2276 Airport Blvd., Pensacola, FL 32504, with Chaplain Ken Griffin officiating. Interment will follow aboard Pensacola NAS at Barrancas National Cemetery, with a full military honors.
