June 22, 1928 – February 2, 2022
Earl L. Slayton, age 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 2, 2022. He was born in Limestone County, AL to the late Arzie and Estelle Putman Slayton on June 22,1928 and resided in Pensacola FL for the past 70 years. In addition to his parents, Earl is preceded in death by his loving wife, Frances E. Slayton; six brothers and two sisters.
Earl was a veteran of the US Navy and the National Guard of Alabama. He was a graduate of Athens College, mastering Business Administration. Earl had a very successful career working for Monsanto textiles for 37 years and Earl Slayton & Associates for another 17 years. He was a devout and loyal member of East Hill Baptist Church, serving on the Board of Deacons for over 45 years.
Earl was a loving husband who was devoted to the love of his life, his wife Frances for 76 years. He deeply loved and took care of his children and grandchildren. Earl was loved and respected so much by his family and will be missed. He will always be with us!!
Those left to cherish his memory include his two sons, Don Slayton and Jeff Slayton (Michelle); his three grandchildren, Julie Saykiewicz, Donny (Kim), Robert (Cathy), Jason Bellamy (Jennifer); his nine great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
A very special and loving thanks to the ladies who took such great care and loved him so much, Tashia Watts, Trisha Melton and Jennifer Horne, you gave him so much love, thank you.
A visitation will be held from 11:00am until a celebration of life service to begin at 12:00pm on Friday, February 11, 2022, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with Chaplain Trudy Dunn, officiating. Entombment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
