Earl Bennett Wilson, 91, of Pensacola passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013. Mr. Wilson was born on February 22, 1922 in Meridian, MS to George Frank and Eula Mae (Harvey) Wilson. Mr. Wilson was unable to serve his country in the military but helped by working on the Atomic Bomb Project in Oak Ridge, TN. In 1947, he married his childhood sweetheart, Ruth Earline Snowden. Mr. Wilson worked for the Singer Sewing Machine Company for 35 years, retiring in Pensacola as the General Agent of the Southeastern United States. His parents, sister and brother preceded him in death. Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Ruth Earline Wilson; daughters, Wanda Camille McKnight (Charles) of Memphis, TN and Marsha Delaine Hines (Barry) of Pensacola; three grandchildren, Matt McKnight (Ashley), Amanda McKnight all of Memphis, TN and Sarah McKnight Ranta (Erick) of New Orleans, LA; three great grandchildren, Powers, Jacob and Madeline McKnight all of Memphis, TN. Visitation will be held 1:00pm until the Funeral Service at 2:00pm Wednesday, April 10, 2013 in the Pleitz Chapel of First Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Spencer officiating. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 707 E. Cervantes St., Suite B, PMB #112, Pensacola, FL 32501; or to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004.
