IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Earle Rader,
Jr.
November 2, 1938 – September 6, 2025
Earle Rader, Jr, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, engineer, and lifelong outdoorsman, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025, in Pensacola, FL, at the age of 86. Born on November 2, 1938, in Miami, FL, to Earle and Hilda Rader, Earle grew up alongside his sister, Mary Jo Hanson (Jim), all who have preceded him in death.
Earle earned his degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering through studies at both the University of Florida and Tri-State University. Before beginning his professional engineering career, marked by purpose and dedication, he completed U.S. Army basic training and went on to serve honorably in the Army Reserves for six years. His service reflected his strong sense of duty and commitment to country.
On November 22, 1962, Earle married his beloved wife, Nancy Seeley Rader, and together they built a loving home and shared 63 years of marriage.
Their family was the pride and joy of Earle's life. He is survived by his children, Lisa Dean (Bob), Nate Rader (Beth), Patricia Massey Williams (Tom), Melinda Rader (Shannon). He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren, Nathan Cordrey (Keeley), Jonathan Cordrey (Shelby), Rader Massey (Kristen), Seeley Massey, Ella Rader, Natalie Rader, and Bridget Rader. This past year, Earle was thrilled to welcome six great-grandchildren into the world—bringing him immense joy and a renewed sense of legacy in his final months.
Earle lived a full and grounded life rooted in hard work, humility, and the simple pleasures of nature. Whether casting a line into the water or tending lovingly to his garden, he found true peace and joy outdoors. His love of fishing was unmatched, and he could often be found on the water, rod in hand and happiness in his heart. Throughout his years in the fishing community, Earle forged some of the most meaningful friendships of his life. He was enamored with all of God's creations—the shimmering water, vibrant plants, singing birds, delicate butterflies, and the quiet beauty of nature in all its forms. His appreciation for the natural world was not just a hobby, but a connection that reflected his gratitude and awe for the Creator.
Earle's yard flourished under his care, a living reflection of his patience and the deep pride he took in nurturing life. His passion for the outdoors extended to his community involvement. He led the Pensacola Kid's Fishing Clinic for many years, teaching countless children not only how to fish but also how to respect and enjoy the outdoors. He was an active member of the Pensacola Recreational Fishing Association, Orchid Society, Bromeliad Society, and the Pensacola Garden Club, sharing his knowledge, enthusiasm, and friendship with everyone he met. Earle was also an active member of Olive Baptist Church, where he found community and fellowship. Over the years, he deepened and strengthened his faith in God through worship, service, and relationships built within his church family.
Earle will be remembered for his warmth, his gentle humor, and his unwavering devotion to his family and friends. He touched many lives with his kindness, generosity, and steadfast presence. His legacy will live on, not only in the lives of those he loved, but in every flower that blooms and every wave that laps the shoreline.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025, from 1:00–2:00 p.m. in the main sanctuary of Olive Baptist Church, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m., also in the main sanctuary. A reception will follow in the 678 Building (Entrance #4), located at 1836 E. Olive Rd., Pensacola, FL 32514.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Pensacola Kid's Fishing Clinic or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, two causes close to Earle's heart.
