Edgar "Eddie" W. Diamond, Jr., 57, of Pace, FL passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017. He was born in Brewton, AL on January 16, 1960 to Edgar Wallace Diamond, Sr. and Darlene Janette Diamond.
Eddie achieved scouting's highest rank of Eagle Scout in New Bern, NC 1973. He attended West Craven High School, New Bern, NC and graduated Jay High School in 1978.
Honorably discharged after serving 6 years in the US Navy aboard the USS Caron DD 970 as an EM2(SW). After his service, he attended school and received a degree from University of Florida.
He managed Heavy Highway Construction for 20+ years before retiring.
Eddie dedicated his time to the betterment of young lives in the community through his active involvement in scouting, Little League coaching, and wresting. His favorite past times were hunting, fishing, wrestling, and the Florida Gators.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Darlene Janette Giddens Diamond and his brother-in-law, Jeff Slade.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Margaret Niesen Diamond; son, William Diamond; father, Wallace Diamond; sisters, Mary Beth Slade and Amanda Ard (Douglas) and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service will be held 4:00 pm Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Jay United Methodist Church with Bobby Carnley and Ebb Hagan officiating.
In lieu of flowers, monetary contributions may be made to Pin to Win Booster Club c/o Mark Green 5382 Southlake Dr. Pace, FL 32571.
