Edith L. (Nall) Dopson, 75, went home to Jesus, 1:20pm, Saturday, November 28, 2015 in Pensacola, FL.
She was born May 7, 1940 in Pensacola, FL, daughter of Arthur R. and Elma (Holman) Nall. She was the oldest of their four children.
Through most of her early & middle years of adult life she was involved as a Deaf Interpreter. She worked within the local school system as an Interpreter with students that had been mainlined with their hearing counterparts and the Special JED Classes given by Pensacola Junior College for the Hearing Impaired. She combined this over the years by working in several local Baptist Church Deaf Ministries, as well as heading a large Deaf Ministry in a Baptist Church in Memphis, TN while her husband was stationed with the Navy in Millington, TN.
She is survived by her husband, Michael I. Dopson, Pensacola, FL; daughter, Robin Dina (Dopson) Thames wife of William F., Pensacola, FL and son, Barry Shawn Dopson, Pensacola, FL; a step daughter, Michelle Leigh (Dopson) Šebestová, of Prague, Czech Republic; two grandchildren, Richard M. Main, Pensacola, FL and Heather R. (Thames) Heffner, wife of Patrick Donald, Norfolk, VA; a step granddaughter, Monika Šebestová, of Prague, Czech Republic & four great grandchildren; also two brothers, Kenneth E. Nall and wife Patsy & Shelby W. Nall and wife Margaret & one half brother, Terry Nall.
She was preceded by her parents; a granddaughter, Julie Nicole Thames; brother, Royce L. Nall and half brother, Anthony Nall.
Visitation will be held 5-7pm Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, 2276 Airport Blvd., Pensacola, FL.
Due to family wishes there will not be an open casket for viewing.
Funeral Service will be held 10:15am Friday, December 4, 2015 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Pastor James McGaughey, Charity Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola, FL.
