Obituary

Edith Parker Scrivner, 93, of Pensacola, FL passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017.

Edith was born in Middleburg, KY. Her family later moved to Cincinnati, OH where she met and married her husband, Gene in 1947. They both spent their entire career with Formica/American Cyanamid, retiring in 1980 and moving to St. Petersburg, FL. Edith remained in St. Pete after Gene's passing in 1986 until moving to Pensacola, FL in 1989 to be near her son Rick and Daughter-in-law and grandchildren. Edith was a very active member of First United Methodist Church, Pensacola working for many years in the kitchen and later the library. She enjoyed the early morning worship service and her Sunday School Class. She also served on the Stephen's Ministry there for many years. Edith was an avid bowler and continued to bowl every week until 2013. Edith loved the Lord and read her Bible and devotions every morning even after completely losing the sight in one eye and partially in the other. She was always friendly, smiling and willing to help other.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene B. Scrivner and her son, Richard E. Scrivner.

Survivors include her grandson, Benjamin B. Scrivner; granddaughters, Sara E. Seuzeneau (David), Kristin E. Beck (Justin) and Christine E. Baehr; her daughter-in-law, Rebecca Scrivner Lemmon (Asa); as well as her great-grandchildren, Paige, Emily, Hudson, Shepard, Ingrid, Jacob and Gwyneth all of Pensacola; also numerous nieces, nephews, great-niece and nephews all of Cincinnati, OH.

Memorial visitation will be held 9:30am until the Memorial Service to begin at 10:00am Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at First United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, Pensacola, Memorial Fund.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of Solaris, Sacred Heart Hospital and Covenant Care Hospice; also especially to Audrey, her skipbo buddy and her dear friends Terry Tillett, Pat and Debra Tallman, who never failed to visit.
