Edith Barbour Wilson, 77, of Pensacola FL, died on Monday April 13, 2015 after a protracted illness. Edith was born on March 29, 1938 to Jerome and Bessie Barbour in Washington, DC. After completing her studies at Joel Elias Spingarn High School, she joined the Navy where she met her husband John Anthony Wilson. They were married in 1957 and from that union two daughters were born, Ann and Katherine. Edith went on to obtain a degree in speech therapy from the District of Columbia Teachers College and served as a traveling speech therapist in the District of Columbia, Southern Maryland and finally in the Escambia County school system for many years. Edith is survived by her two daughters; Ann E. Jenkins of Ft Walton Beach, FL, Katherine Wilson Hart and son-in-law Darryl L. Hart of Pensacola, FL., a sister Ann L. Pauls, brother-in-law Lloyd A. Pauls of Washington DC and brother Jerome B. Barbour of Frederick MD, nieces Lisa Pauls Jones and Allison Lynette Artis and nephew, Allan L. Pauls. and a host of relatives and friends. She was the beloved Grandmother of six; Amanda E. Jenkins, Niles P. Jenkins, Kourtney A. Wilson, Kyle L. Wilson, Dexter K. Zackery and Keith A. Wilson. And the great Grandmother of three, Amaia S. Jackson, Adajiah M. Jackson and Anthony P.K. Jackson. A memorial service will be held at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel on Saturday, April 18th at 1pm. The family will begin receiving family and friends at the Chapel staring at 12pm Repast will take place at 4110 Wynford Circle immediately after the service. Special thanks to Pastor Cecil Williams, Haper-Morris and friends and family that called, texted, emailed, stopped by to offer kindness and comfort to our family.
