Obituary

Edward A. Collier, 85, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.

Edward was born on July 12, 1939, in Birmingham, AL to Ella A. (Hodge) and Lee M. Collier. He was raised in Birmingham where he attended local schools and graduated from Minor High School. After graduation, Edward served his country honorably in the US Army. Upon returning from the military, he went into the construction business. In January 1993, he met Janice Moore, and they married in November of the same year. They moved to Pensacola, FL in January of 1994. Edward was an avid Alabama fan and enjoyed scuba diving and the beach. Edward was a member of Olive Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and son, Lee Collier.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Janice M. Collier of Pensacola; daughter, Natalie Collier of Birmingham, AL; sons, Jason Collier of Birmingham, AL and Thomas McSherdon of Pensacola, FL; as well as 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.

A funeral cortege will depart Haper-Morris Memorial Chapel at 12:30pm for a graveside service that will begin at 1:00pm Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Barrancas National Cemetery, with military honors. Rev. Jon DuBois will officiate.

In lieu flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pensacola Humane Society, 5 N. "Q" St., Pensacola, FL 32505.

The Collier family would like to thank University Hills Health and Rehabilitation, Vitas Hospice, and Olive Baptist Church for all the care and support that was given to Edward and the family.
