Edward Lev
Easton
November 27, 1977 – September 14, 2019
"My beloved son Edward Lev Easton passed away quietly in his sleep in the early morning hours of Saturday, September 14, 2019. Edward was 41 and would have been 42 on November 27 th .
He had a peripheral Polyneuropathy and was physically disabled since birth, but he managed to finish high school early, and graduate from the University of Florida with degrees majors in Forensic Anthropology and Journalism. Edward was awarded the Kosciuszko Foundation grant to study at Jaggielonian University in Poland. Edward studied at Lomonosov University in Moscow on a University of Florida scholarship. He was very creative. He spoke several languages including Polish and Russian. Edward was a Member of MENSA , and at one time he was Miami's youngest Mensan.
Edward traveled around the world, and chose journalism as his career. He cared about the future of humanity. In his writings, he was the voice of the poor, the downtrodden, the disabled, and those who had no voice. Edward worked as a newspaper editor for many years in Georgia and Florida, and spent his last years working for Gannett News, including several years in Panama City, and at the Pensacola News Journal in Pensacola FL.
Edward leaves his father, Charles R. Easton and stepmother, Susan Weiss; his mother, JoAn Gregory Easton Marchese and stepfather, Frank M Marchese, his five beloved siblings; younger twin brothers, James Easton and John Easton, older brother, Charles Ezra Easton, his older sisters, Joann Miskura and Françoise Thompson. He leaves his uncle, Eugene J. Gregory, Sr.; aunt, Diann Caccia Gregory, aunt, Celia A Easton, uncle, Edward Louis Easton, nephew, Tyler Easton, nieces, Ashley Miskura, Elizabeth Miskura, Tatiana Hernandez, and Michaela Easton, cousins, Eugene John Gregory, Jr., Diann Gregory Bastien, Josephine Gregory Siemon, Ann Gregory, and Margo Easton. Ed's beloved pets were Banjo, Alfie, Trilian and Topaze.
Ed loved Jazz, one of his favorites was Muddy Waters. Ed's favorite song was
"In a Sentimental Mood", by John Coltrane & Duke Ellington. He also loved Bob Dylan's music. Ed loved good literature, and his middle name was Lev, after author Leo Tolstoy, an author he admired. As a child, he loved Herman Melville's, "Moby Dick", which he read at four years old.
Ed will always be in "Our hearts."
A Private Family Memorial Service will be held.
