Edward Allen Faxlanger, Sr., 88, of Milton, FL went to be with our Lord, Wednesday, August 25, 2021.
He was born in Amherst, NY and resided in Milton, FL for the remainder of his life. Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, and friend, he was a joy to many, family, and friend, and will be greatly missed. A man of many talents, he loved to play the harmonica and electric steel guitar. He was never without an amusing story and always had a trick up his sleeve. He was a Third-Degree Knight in Counsel 7027 of the Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and a Veteran of the US Army, Korea Era.
He leaves behind a loving wife of 66 years, Sandra Jean Faxlanger (nee: Hawk); six children, Donald Faxlanger (Melissa), James Faxlanger (Melissa), John Faxlanger (Donna), Phil Faxlanger (Kenda), Teresa Harrelson, and Mary Garrard (Billy); 20 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Loretta (nee: Langenfeld) Faxlanger; his son, Edward Allen Faxlanger Jr.; his grandson, Derek Faxlanger; as well as his sisters, Loretta and Jean.
Visitation will be held 5-7pm Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, 2276 Airport Blvd., Pensacola, FL 32504, with a Third-Degree Knight Memorial to begin at 5pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00am Thursday, September 2, 2021, at St. Rosa of Lima Catholic Church, 6451 Park Ave, Milton, FL 32570, with Msgr. Michael Reed celebrant. Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola, with Army honors.
